The Maryland Department of Human Resources has awarded the Golden Fork Award for the quarter ending 3/31/13 to the Washington County Department of Social Services (WCDSS) Family Investment Division. The Golden Fork Award recognizes accuracy and timeliness of Food Supplement (Food Stamp) benefit issuance. Previously, WCDSS received two Golden Forks and four Silver Spoons for exceptional compliance rates. Rosalind Martin, WCDSS Assistant Director for Family Investment, stated “This award recognizes the outstanding efforts of our staff to ensure that needy families receive their food benefits promptly, and that scarce public funds are distributed accurately.
