Frederick, Md.—The holiday season is right around the corner, but many Frederick County families would not be able to celebrate without the generosity of their neighbors. Each year, the Frederick County Department of Social Services (FCDSS) holds its annual Holiday Gift Project—a call to action for residents to support their fellow community members in need.
Throughout the years, local businesses, groups, families, and individuals have stepped up to spread joy by participating in the Holiday Gift Project. Last year, the generous donations of those throughout Frederick County benefitted more than 530 children, families, home-bound senior citizens, and vulnerable adults. FCDSS anticipates the community need to be even greater this year.
Those who choose to support the Holiday Gift Project will be provided information about the family or person(s) they are helping. They will wrap, donate, and deliver gifts to FCDSS, which staff and volunteers will distribute to their clients. No matter how large or small, all donations are greatly appreciated and go a long way toward helping people feel loved and supported.
The Frederick County DSS Holiday Gift Project not only warms the hearts of those in need, but the hearts of those who donate as well. To participate, please contact Jennifer Long at via email at Jennifer.Long@maryland.gov or by calling (301) 600-4544.
