HARFORD COUNTY (JULY 21, 2011): The Harford County Department of Social Services (HCDSS) will take its message to the 24th Annual Harford County Farm Fair along with television star Mario Lopez, animal judging, equestrian events, face painting and more.
“This annual family event is a great opportunity to inform the community about our services,” said Jerry Reyerson, HCDSS Director. “Many people are not aware of the wide range of services we offer. Our agency assists our neighbors by administering a wide range of economic support programs to help individuals, families and children in crises.”
HCDSS provides county residents with access to Food Stamps, Medical Assistance and Temporary Cash Assistance, as well as with help in paying heating and utility bills if income eligible. In addition, the agency collects and distributes Child Support payments, investigates allegations of child abuse and neglect, and protects vulnerable adults.
At the Farm Fair, HCDSS staff will be located in the commercial/ civic tent area. They are prepared to answer questions and provide guidance on how residents can access the agency’s services and programs.
